Beautiful blue skies belie what my car went through. A tree fell in love with my 1998 Lexus and demolished rear window, trunk, and left driver’s mirror. Totaled half!
Best part is I just had finished my interview with Commissioner of Public Works, Susana Reyes. Like lightning, the street services truck came. She waited with me until the work was done. I insisted for her to go home as she even had offered to give me a ride home.
The caring neighbors photographed and said:”Wow, the city cleaned that up so fast.” Imagine how you feel so vulnerable, not panicking yet, but needing help. Almost at the same time, in middle of pouring rain, my daughter and granddaughter show up offering to help.
I took plenty of photos, guided by friends to make sure I documented all sides of damaged car.
As I upload, still waiting for tow truck. I expected the tow truck to be here before LA City Street Services. Instead, LA City’s street services got here and finished their work in less than half an hour with proper equipment, good waterproof green jackets, hard hat and can do attitude with three trucks.
I thank you my dear city!
Thank you Lord for all the help. Thank you LA City!!
