#princess2015la came to visit in between her classes.
I introduced her to atis, my favorite fruit. As a courtesy, she tasted it. After eating 2 spoons, she said:”Here, Grandma, you can have your favorite fruit.”
She then tasted a bite of the cupcake. A bit sweet for her, she asked me to remove the icing and the middle caramel surprise. I removed it for her and mine. We then ate our cupcakes. It was my breakfast: atis, eggplant omelette, milk and no frosting chocolate cupcake.
She then shared her hurts: M, a relative, told her that she does not want her as her friend nor to be part of her family. I told her that M does not love herself and her circumstances right now so she is telling you that. But, I love you so much because I love myself so much.
Grandpa loves you so much because he loves himself so much.””Grandma, he is not my Grandpa. He is my chicken feet. And I am, states her name, his chipmunk. Can you read me a book?”
“Yes, get One.”
We flipped all the pages of a storybook curated and put together by @byhydeemarie. I point her out and she said:”she’s holding me, Grandma.”
“Yes, she likes you. And all these folks love you.”
“Grandma, I made this for you – a fairy standing on a small boat.”
I simply turned around her sadness to show her how much she is loved and she created something to express her love for me.
What a beautiful generous loving being!
P.S.: I was teaching her understanding towards another, non-judgment, empathy, but also standing up to love others, based on self-love.
