It was given to honor my mom, Asuncion Castro Abarquez, an educator of sciences, math and biology in Manila, Los Angeles, Cerritos, Artesia and Bellflower, and my eldest sister, Rosalinda Abarquez Alcantara, an accountant and a lay Catholic leader who passed away 60 days of each other in 2016.
