Fr. Peter delivered a eulogy for our friend Pier Giorgio Luciani. Of all the chapter achievements in his life – there are many, like an Italian Member of the Parliament, Italian Entrepreneur, Sierra Club Trail Hiker, Father, and Husband – two traits stood out: his joyful attitude towards life, his presence lighted up the room and it got filled with his inner sunshine and innate joy. Giorgio is now in the next chapter of his life, beyond the physical realm.
The gift of the day was a tenor named Gelo Francisco. He sang three songs: Hindi Kita Malilimutan, To dream the Impossible dream, and O Sole Mio. The elderly women wanted him to stay so they could dance with him. Thank you, Gelo, for creating joy on this sad yet exuberant day to remember Giorgio’s good, giving heart and outstanding optimistic attitude.
Eulogy after eulogy paid tribute to Giorgio’s loving wife, Lucita, who showed in her daily care for him her deep love: singing to him, holding his hands, and providing him the best care possible.
Do you have someone who would lovingly give her/his all for you to live with dignity, comfort, and a high quality of care?
