The Soul of America is being renewed under 46th US President @potus @joebiden and the signposts are in @latimes’ article calling for a Department of Culture, much like “England, France, Germany, Albania and more than 50 other countries that count themselves civilized,” Mark Swed, a music critic wrote, which I totally agree with.
During this 2020 -2021 pandemic, the hardest hit were artists, singers, performers, yet we saw yesterday the power of Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman who exhorted us to bravely be the light.
America, we must be the light, be morally aligned within ourselves, to embrace the light of songs, poems, plays, theater, films, videos, cds, spotify, livestreaming movies and series like South Korea and see the power of culture enjoyed by billions and love fiercely our families, as 46th President does with his wife, daughter, son and grandchildren.
Long after the guns are used, bodies smashed, violence triggered, our culture of death results in darkness, division, fractured nation, battered souls, broken limbs, and tortured psyches.
Time to heal, America as #JoeBiden exhorts us. Remember our lost ones, love our families, neighbors, serve our communities, and reach out more to build connections.
I am more at peace with 46th US President in charge and I slept so much better. Thank you America for coming out in droves, nearly 82 million that voted for Joe Biden, and a total of 155 million in the 2020 elections. We are all guardians of this American democracy and we are all called to support this experiment called America!
My reads for this month are Pope Francis’ Let Us Dream, Barack Obama’s A Promised Land, Jon Meacham’s The Soul of America, Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals, The Patriot’s Handbook, Pete Buttigieg’s Trust, Jon Meacham’s His Truth is Marching On.
A special thank you to now promoted Deputy Eugene Goodman, Capitol Security – a man of courage, who diverted the insurgents to protect House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other legislators.
I could not believe the natural sparkle of lights from the rising sun that I saw, nor the comfortable reported 40F temperature and light snow in DC for the 59th Presidential inauguration of the 46th US President Joe Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris. I am in tears!
Obsequiously supplicant = excessively servile, respectful request to a powerful person are adjectives used by Rachel Maddow in describing the one hour President’s role of US VP Mike Pence. Crowds clapped for him.
Crowds also clapped for the regal 44th couple, 44th US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
Since 1789, America transfers power every 4 years, whether at war, peace or with the pandemic. “People are the source of the government. To form a more perfect union.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an interview with MSNBC’S Joy Reid described that the Capitol was invaded by the British in 1812. On Jan.6, Trump directed a mob, incited them to an insurrection, the mob acted to attack the Capitol and resulted in 6 dead and scores injured. He was impeached a week later while congressfolks wrote the one article of impeachment, while in hiding inside the Capitol.
Give more of itself means American patriotism, towards the public good is the opening prayer. God is the Holy mystery of love, restore our dreams, the pastor said.
46th US President Joseph Biden, Jr. declared today is democracy’s day. The cause of democracy has prevailed. The will of the people has been heard. The success of our story depends not on some of us, not a few of us, but all of us. We have much to do in this winter of peril. The virus has taken more people than WW II. A cry for racial justice delayed for 400 years must be done now. Climate change renewal has to be now. “My whole soul is in this renewal,” he said. With unity, we can do great things. Enough of us carried us forward, President Biden continued.

The rainbow is a symbol not only of hope, but that each of us has a distinct legacy. This rainbow appeared yesterday, Inauguration Eve, even the heavens approve of what’s happening in America.
This morning, I woke up to see a sparkle of lights coming from the rising sun in Los Angeles, viewed from my front window.
In DC, the news folks reported 40F and light snow, all are good weather signs that Angel’s will be guiding 46th US President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris.
#Whitney Steele, a songwriter, listening to her smooth, soothing voice. #we're walking fields of gold.
Can you believe that we are walking fields of gold? That love is our currency? That wisdom can be had with reflections?
I once had a conversation with a very young techie who sold his creative product for millions. He then donated it to an evangelical church who quickly integrated him into the circle, then shunned him after the monies were donated.
He and I had a great soul to soul conversation. He asked me why he is going through sufferings? I told him bluntly because you gave with strings attached. God wants you to do His mission. Then, be ready for what He has in store for you.
Would you believe 7 years later, he found his purpose, he is so happy. I look forward to meeting him again to interview him and write his beautiful story. I am not just a writer, I harvest the fields of gold within my subjects. I hope to write more of your beautiful stories. Thank you God for renewing me in my winter chapter in life mission. Okay, not dying, quite healthy, but also recognizing God’s grace. Thank you Asian Journal for accompanying me in my purpose post-retirement. Maraming Salamat po!
The Archdiocese wants us to pray together as a nation with the US 46th President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris who are going to the Arlington National Cemetery at 4pm, today, shortly after they arrive in Washington, D.C.
They invite us to post our photos with the candle in Facebook with the hashtags above. I will pray and light a candle.
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles also invites us to attend a digital mass with Archbishop Jose Gomez at 8am, tomorrow, Jan. 21, 2021.
Inauguration ceremonies start at 9am in DC Jan 21, 2021. I will watch in MSNBC and CNN, my sources for truthful, credible news reporting, and Facebook live.
My prayers: Lord, our hearts are so heavy as we mourn the deaths of 2,049,813 around the world; 400,022 deaths in the United States leading all countries in the world, with 33,746 in CA. Allow these Angels to animate us all to open the doors wider to love the marginalized, the poor, the Black lives in our midst and make them feel safe, secure and welcome around us.
We have hope as we know even with 95,914,178 confirmed cases in the world, and 24,164,707 in the US, many more have recovered with Your Grace!
Holy Spirit, thank you for protecting our American democracy and please sustain Your animation of our elected leaders US President Joe Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris – protect them from all harm and grant them the wisdom to make decisions that sustain the highest public good. Salamat po Panginoon!
May our USCCB, Catholic Bishops, US-based Catholics be a welcome new force of positive good and positive wholesome living in and for America without obstructing changes, perhaps residues of reactive and regressive, negative thinking from Trump’s supporters amongst them.
May we all build a new inclusive, egalitarian, humane, progressive America that respects humanity of all shapes and colors, as Mother Earth!
Abby Phillip reminds us that 46th US President Elect Joe Biden mirroring others, their pains, their losses, honoring the 400, 022 we lost, and reflecting American greatness to serve others. Thank you!
We may be nice and polite but inside are cold hearts. Learn how to listen, understand and be kinder to people even to those who made mistakes. The new wine will not burst if perhaps put in new wine skins and just maybe the world will survive these new times. What the world needs now is an expression of true love in thoughts, words, and actions.
Fr. John Cordero
New times is how rhetoric resulted in 6 deaths now, scores injured in Washington, DC.
New times is 9 bishops and higher ranking church officials who passed away from Coronavirus, i.e., Archbishop Most Reverend Philip Tartaglia of Glasgow, Scotland and Cardinal Eusebio Oscar Scheid in Brazil who died on the same day, Jan.13, 2021.
New Times is 95,415,802 cases and 2,036,534 deaths in 191 countries/regions and in the US, 24,034,378 cases and 398,484 deaths.41, 173 deaths in NY, 33,623 deaths in CA and 32,600 deaths in Texas.
May we all thrive in these new times with deeper faith, true joy and genuine love for others.
Lord, please animate with Your Holy Spirit the inauguration of 46th US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
May their team’s leadership examples usher America into its new skins, of making racism, injustice, violence, inequality and corruption, all past unjust actions of 2020.
Special thanks and gratitude to @ediram88 who made this beautiful arrangement, a red flaming loving tribute to the Santo Nino. These flowers lift my spirit and brighten my day in these new times.
